DAY 01 Arrival at Ernakulam 

On arrival we would receive you at the airport/railway station and transfer you to the hotel. Later in afternoon move ahead to Fort Cochin. Sightseeing options would be

St. Francis CSI Church in Kochi was originally built in 1503, is the oldest church in India and has great historical significance as a mute witness to the European colonial struggle in the subcontinent. The Portuguese explorer, Vasco da Gama, died in Kochi in 1524 when he was on his third visit to India. His body was originally buried in this church, but after fourteen years his remains were removed to Lisbon.

The Paradesi Synagogue is the oldest synagogue in the Commonwealth of Nations, located in Kochi. It was built in 1568 by the Malabar Yehuden people or Cochin Jewish community in the Kingdom of Cochin. The synagogue is located in the quarter of Old Cochin known as Jew Town, and is the only one of the seven synagogues in the area still in use. The Mattancherry Palace temple and the Mattancherry synagogue share a common wall. Antique and handicrafts shops are common here.

The Dutch Palace, Mattanchery

The Mattancherry Palace, also known as the Dutch Palace features Kerala murals depicting Hindu temple art, portraits and exhibits of the Rajas of Kochi. It has a pond in front of the palace and a temple within the compound. The palace is under the procession of The Archaeology survey of India.

DAY 02 Cochin – Munnar [150 kms from Cochin] 

After breakfast, check out from the hotel. Drive to Munnar and reach by afternoon, Check in at the hotel and settle down with the bags. By evening go for sightseeing or visit to the town.

Tea museum – Munnar is also known for its tea plantations. The tea museum at Munnar showcases and highlights some of the fine and fascinating aspects on the evolution and growth of tea plantations in this part of Kerala. Some of the unique items on display at the museum are the original tea roller, dating back to 1905 and the ‘Peloton Wheel’ used in the power generation plant in the 1920s.

Eravikulam National Park is a 97 sq.km national park located along the Western Ghats in the Idukki district of Kerala .Twenty six species of mammals have been recorded in the park including the largest surviving population of Nilgiri Tahr, estimated at about 750 in number. You would need to board a bus or a jeep provided by the forest department to enter the park.

DAY 03 MUNNAR [100 kms for sightseeing]

After breakfast get ready to go towards Top station on the way

Mattupetty Lake and Dam – 13 kilometres en-route to Top Station at an altitude of 1700 m is the Mattupetty Lake.  Boating is a popular activity here and DTPC (District Tourism Promotion Council) Idukki has good facility for boating and has a fleet of speed boats, row boats and pedal boats. The indo Swiss live stock project is very nearby this beautiful picnic spot. The dam is just nearby.

Echo Point is an ideal place for adventure tourism and trekking. The fresh mountain air, the mist-clad hills and panoramic view make it worthy of a visit. The combination of the lake and rolling mountains generates an echo for the feeblest sound, that’s how this place got its name.

Kundala Lake is an artificial reservoir located at Kundala, a charming town in Idukki District of Kerala. It is comparatively a small dam having arch shape. A narrow road on the top of the dam gives a panoramic view of the catchment area. The banks of this lake are full of lush green scenic forest.

Top Station Just as the name suggests, top station is a very huge height with almost close to the cloud experience. This is home to “Neelakurinji” the plant which buds violet flowers once in twelve years. A great view of the Western ghats is possible from the top. Its take almost 1 hr to reach from Munnar town.

DAY 04 Munnar – Thekkady [110 Kms, 4Hrs] 

After breakfast, check out from the hotel, drive to Thekkady. After check inn settle down with the bags. After lunch:

Thekkady, the ‘eastern gateway’ to Kerala is full of dense green vegetation, heady scents of spices, panoramic view, lakes, evergreen forests, herds of elephants and birds. The wild life comes together in perfect harmony to make Thekkady a right destination for nature lovers.

Periyar wild life Sanctuary is a protected area, and a nature reserve in Kerala. The protected area covers an area of 777 km out of which a 350 km part of the core zone was made into the Periyar National Park and Tiger Reserve sometimes dubbed the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary. Apart from Elephants, the other animals to be seen in the Periyar sanctuary are Gaur, Wild Pigs, Sambar, Barking Deer, Mouse Deer, Dole or Indian Wild Dog and very rarely, a Tiger. There are, now, an estimated 40 tigers here.

Boating on the reservoir – A boat ride to the end of natural wilderness on the Periyar reservoir would get you a glance of elephants, tigers, dears and many more animals on the banks of the reservoir. There are boats provided by the forest department and the DTPC (district tourism promotion council. These are big boats and the boating is in groups.

Timings -0730, 0930, 1130,1400, 1600, hrs. Fare as applicable + entrance fee for lower or upper deck. The forest Department conducts boating trips from Thekkady. Entrance fee is payable at check post.

Elephant ride-The forest Department, Thekkady offers facilities for elephant rides through the jungle. Time: 1000 to 1700 hrs. Duration of a trip: 30 minutes. Tickets are available from the wildlife information center or private operators.

Day 5 Thekkady – Alleppey [170 Kms/4 Hrs] One Bedroom Houseboat

After breakfast, check out from the hotel. Drive to Alleppey and reach by afternoon. Check in at the houseboat at 1200 noon. Route Alleppey – Alleppey round trip.

On arrival, embark on a Houseboat for a cruise in the backwaters .Cruise through the palm fringed canals ; watch the paddy fields, village folk, relax on board hearing  lullaby of the wind & waves. Thus mysterious strip of emerald green land is stuffed with endless miles of placid backwaters that appends to its charm. Cruise till 5 in the evening by then the houseboat halts in the lake for overnight stay.

Day 6 Alleppey – Kovalam [ 200 Kms/5 Hrs] 

Kovalam is one of the most popular beaches in Kerala, which was a small fishing village. The beach is what makes Kovalam so attractive. The beach is almost a bay and is ideal for swimming. Thirty years back, it was a hippy heaven. Today it’s a tourist destination with lakhs and lakhs of tourist coming in.

Day 7 – Roam around Kovalam and Trivandrum city tour

Roam around the beach of Kovalam and get engaged in some shopping. Proceed to Trivandrum city tour. Visit the patmanabha swamy temple, Napier musem – Where the original painting of Raja ravi varma are displayed, Other shopping option in the city.

Day 8 Departure transfer to Trivandrum Airport/ railway station
