Day 1 Arrival at Camp Noel, Top Station, Munnar

Arrival at Cochin International Airport and transfer to Camp Noel – Please make sure that you get a morning flight. Check out these site to get an idea about the Camp – www.campnoel.com; facebook.com/campnoel

Travel Time to Camp Noel

It is approximately 5.5 hours from Cochin Airport and about 90 minutes to reach the resort from Munnar town. The route to the resort is through the kodaikannal highway via Mattupetty dam. The first 30 kms is a very scenic drive.

Normal vehicles do not reach up to the resort as the last 6 kilometers to the resort is kind of forest track and is a kind of off road adventure. Be guests need to be prepared to ride out some rough terrain through a forest track, there are no roads to speak of! Guests with heart problems, back aches, neck and spinal problems would have a hard time so please advice the guest before taking up the package.

Enjoy the beauty of the camp and settle down in the room with a lighted fire place in room. Evening after dinner move get ready for a night safari in a Jeep where you could spot wild animals like Indian Guar, Sambar, Wild boar, Bison, if lucky enough, even a leapord.

Day 2 at Camp Noel – Trekking

Guided trekking at Camp Noel through the tea plantations and the forest area of Munnar close to Camp Noel. Buy noon get back, after lunch get some some carrots and vegetable from the nearby vegetable farm within camp noel and give it to the chef he could make something with it on your order. By late evening enjoy the scenic mist filled mountains, the Grandis forests and get yourself close to the fire place to kill the cold.

Day 3 Travel to Thekkady Check inn at Vanya – The tree house

A tree house nestled in 8 acres of thick vegetation, next to the Periyar Tiger Reserve.

It’s time to offer our little secret to the world….Nature in its purest form with Breathtaking view of Mountains and Valleys.

Let the adventurer in you take over – Vanya the Tree house close to the Periyar Reservoir

Tree House can be accessed only through trekking.

Be ready to welcome Indian Bisons, Boars, Deers and Elephants who might give you a surprise walk-in, accompanied by  the musical cacophony of crickets and nightingales. Let your lungs feast on the oxygen and your olfactory nerves enjoy the exhilarating aroma of nature. Quench your thirst with sweet natural spring water. Being eco-conscious, the only energy sources are Solar and Wind generated. Get close to nature and enjoy the sumptuous local cuisines consisting of sweet potatoes, Tapiocas and yams.

Day 4 Stay within Vanya – Bamboo rafting

Bamboo rafting at Thekkady - Wake up for an adventure themed day, a dawn to dusk program. After breakfast, start off a 45 minute trek into the forest to reach the rafting departure point. This would be guided by forest guards and guides. These people are well aware of the forest and are poacher turned protectors of the forest. You would be provided with leg protectors.

The forests are rich in bird life and arboreal animals like giant squirrel and Nilgiri langur. The rafting is for about three hours and one gets a panoramic view of forest-clad hills reflected on the lake. Animals like elephant, gaur and sambar are sighted keeping close to the edges of the lake.

Back to Vanya – Spend the evening at the tree house.

Day 5 – Transfer to Cochin International Airport

Catch an evening flight or stay at fort Cochin and fly back next day.
